Cartier has always had a unique position in the vocabulary of jewelry design. This time, the brand redefines "balance" through the "En Équilibre" high-end jewelry series with the tension of lines, materials and colors. "Supreme" selects four of these works to experience the ultimate tug-of-war between craftsmanship and creativity from the perspectives of lightness and weight, symmetry and asymmetry.
Gorgeous transition between movement and stillness
The Pavocelle necklace is a piece that is hard to ignore. At its center is a 58-carat sapphire egg-shaped gemstone from Ceylon. Inspired by the peacock eye-shaped feather pattern, Cartier built layers of hollow structures around the main stone, like the moment when the feather tail blooms. Every curve hides details, and the light outlined by the diamonds is both sharp and soft, and the overall lightness is almost unreal. This piece is also convertible. The central main stone and its base can be removed as a collar pin, showing the flexibility and practicality of jewelry design, and continuing Cartier's enduring tradition of deformed jewelry.
Architectural vocabulary between black, white and green
The Traforato necklace is more restrained in the series. The necklace is centered on geometric composition, with three Colombian emeralds at the core, extending a delicate white gold structure. Emeralds, onyx and diamonds are interspersed in between, and the black, white and green colors seem to be whispering, but they echo each other, exuding a dynamic tension in balance. The hollow design makes the whole more breathable, as if the jewelry is no longer a heavy existence, but a light and shadow structure floating on the skin. This design language is a perfect example of Cartier transforming architectural thinking into the art of wearing.
Poetic arrangement in wildness
The Panthère Orbitale necklace, inspired by the jaguar, is the most narrative piece in the collection. The animal sits on a coral cabochon, with a confident and elegant posture. Its body is collaged with diamonds and onyx to create a leopard print texture, and its eyes are inlaid with two emeralds, making the whole look alive. The color matching of the entire necklace is bold but not arrogant. The contrast between amethyst and coral does not form a conflict, but a soft transition in weight and color. The design and arrangement of each bead string are the result of precise artistic calculations, making this jaguar seem to be walking around the wearer's neck.
A dynamic combination of weight and color
The Bullio ring is a work of color and form. In the center of the ring is a 25-carat red tourmaline cabochon, with a rich red color that is the visual focus. Surrounding it are emerald beads and red tourmaline beads, which form a visual rhythm with a round white gold base and geometric cut diamonds, adding a sense of architectural stability. Black onyx lines are dotted in it, injecting a sense of neat modernity into the whole. The classic combination of red, green and black has been the brand's century-old design tradition since Louis Cartier.
