Time is never a straight line. When the curvaceous aesthetics of the 1970s and contemporary craftsmanship sit side by side on the same sofa, we realize that so-called "classics" are never a sealed-off past, but rather an ongoing dialogue. Roche Bobois' latest Fall/Winter 2026/2027 collection is precisely such a reunion across eras and styles, where the designer pays homage to the old souls in the archives and reaches out to today's lifestyles.
This season, the materials themselves take center stage. The Kosmos dining table features sculpted metal legs, their curves resembling solidified liquid light under illumination; the Margaux and Ambre sofas are adorned with new, richly textured, and lustrous surfaces. You'll find that the same sofa can present completely different expressions in the light of morning and evening. It's not just furniture, but more like an art installation that changes with the light.

The brand wasn't content with simply innovating forward; instead, it chose to look back at its design archives. The iconic Bubble series dons a new chenille coat, its rounded, full silhouette gaining a softer touch—like an old friend getting a more comforting new jacket. In contrast, the Speed Up dining table features a glossy black lacquer finish paired with a walnut tabletop, its clean lines and distinctive presence perfectly capturing the season's character. This interplay of softness and strength perfectly encapsulates the essence of the season.

If there's a hidden narrative thread this season, it's undoubtedly the revival of the 1970s and 80s. Henrik Thor-Larsen's Ovalia armchair, designed in 1968, returns to the contemporary scene with a fresh interpretation, still mysterious and enveloping. Hans Hopfer's Lounge design and the Swaya armchair, inspired by the classic 1980s Kroken lounge chair, together weave a cross-generational design dialogue, like an old record being remixed—familiar melodies, but with a completely new listening experience.

In terms of color, burgundy, chocolate, cognac, and terracotta form a deep, autumnal base, harmonized with beige, steel blue, and olive green. Colors meander through wood, metal, glass, and fabrics, shifting subtly with the light, creating a serene, understated yet highly textured living atmosphere. Close your eyes and imagine: a fireplace glowing softly, a velvet sofa, a glass of cognac—this is the home script for this season.
Roche Bobois reinterprets classic pieces in his Fall/Winter 2026/2027 collection, continuing the brand's long-standing exploration of the concept of "contemporary." True classics are never static specimens, but rather designs that find a way to reconnect with contemporary life through repeated exposure and reflection.
