Classics on the Wrist

by Pure Luxury

For Tiffany & Co., a watch has never been merely a timekeeping tool, but a form of expression that intertwines jewelry craftsmanship, design language, and everyday wear. From the layered firing of enamel and the precise cutting of gemstones to the structural aesthetics of gold thread stitching and a historical retrospective of timekeeping mechanisms, the following four watch collections do not compete on complicated functions, but rather redefine how time flows on the wrist through materials, craftsmanship, and details.

Wrist Enamel

Enamel Watch

The newly launched Enamel Watch draws inspiration from the Paillonné enamel jewelry collection created by legendary designer Jean Schlumberger in 1962. The watch doesn't rely on complex functions, but rather on layers of meticulous craftsmanship to redefine the act of "telling time." At the center of the dial is a fixed diamond-paved disc, surrounded by an enamel ring that rotates freely with the wrist. Twelve 18K gold cross-stitched hour markers, though not fixed in place, allow time to appear in different forms as it flows. This touch of humor in its design is a hallmark of Jean Schlumberger's work.

What truly sets this watch apart is the nearly lost Paillonné enamel technique. Craftsmen must meticulously cut and arrange extremely thin metal foils, then apply translucent enamel, firing repeatedly to achieve the unique depth and luster of Tiffany Blue or white enamel. The production of the rotating bezel alone takes approximately 65 hours, fully demonstrating the time value of haute horlogerie. Both the 36mm case and the center of the dial are adorned with snowflake-set diamonds, creating a seamless, luminous effect that makes the enamel colors appear even more three-dimensional against the diamond backdrop.

A Circle of Eternity

Eternity Baguette

The newly launched Eternity Baguette watch continues the brand's profound understanding of diamonds and colored gemstones. The timepiece is inspired by the unbroken halo of gemstones in the Eternity Ring. For the first time, the 36mm white gold bezel is adorned with a full circle of baguette-cut gemstones, creating clean and pure lines that make the gemstones the visual focus. The 12 hour markers on the dial each feature a different gemstone cut, ranging from round brilliant cut, cushion cut, marquise cut to Tiffany True cut. The heart-shaped cut at 12 o'clock is understated yet meaningful, reminding us that the beginning and end of time return to the essence of emotion. Each gemstone is hand-positioned and set by artisans, ensuring that the visual order retains warmth even upon close inspection.

The collection offers two stylistic approaches: the Blue Gradient version features a gradient of blue hues created by interweaving sapphires, topaz, and emeralds, flowing like the night sky; the Diamond version, on the other hand, boasts a diamond bezel paired with aquamarine hour markers, striking a balance between brilliance and clarity. The case, lugs, and clasp are all adorned with snow-set diamonds, yet the effect is understated, allowing light to flow naturally.

Sixteen Stone

Inspired by Jean Schlumberger's Sixteen Stone series created in 1959, this mother-of-pearl watch features a double-layered dial: a delicate and lustrous mother-of-pearl at the center, and a freely rotating outer ring. With each lift or turn of the wrist, the 24 diamonds and 12 gold "X"-shaped stitching pieces subtly move. The outer ring requires 25 hours of goldsmithing and setting work, with each stitch individually cast, polished, and fixed by craftsmen, showcasing patience and precision in every detail.

The 36mm white gold case is adorned with snowflake-set diamonds, allowing light to flow naturally across its surface and highlighting the understated yet soft luster of mother-of-pearl. The radiating pattern on the case back is inspired by Jean Schlumberger's Floral Arrows brooch, providing a serene and poetic finish to the overall design. Paired with a Tiffany Blue alligator leather strap, the Sixteen Stone watch prioritizes rhythm, tactile experience, and craftsmanship over complex functions.

Tiffany Timer

The new Tiffany Timer was created to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the brand's creation of its first chronograph in 1866. The 40mm platinum case features rounded lines, with the chronograph pushers extending along the case's curves for a comfortable and natural fit. The crown's design is inspired by the Tiffany Setting six-prong diamond ring, subtly incorporating jewelry elements into the design details. The Tiffany Blue lacquer on the dial undergoes over 50 hours of repeated varnishing and baking to achieve a distinct layered blue sheen, while 12 baguette-cut diamond hour markers ensure a clean and orderly reading experience.

Turning the watch over to the case back, the 18K gold bird on the "Bird on a Rock" rotor, visible through the transparent case back, adds a touch of lightness and playfulness to the precise timekeeping function. This watch, limited to 60 pieces worldwide, not only pays homage to vintage style but also embodies the brand's historical spirit on the wrist.
