Elegant Masterpiece on the Wrist

by Pure Luxury

Jaeger-LeCoultre's Reverso series watches are famous for their unique reversible rectangular case, which can be displayed on both sides at will, making it a classic in the watchmaking industry. The Rare Flower Series Bird of Paradise watch has a low-key and elegant dial that perfectly sets off the colorful decoration on the case. The dial is set against a white mother-of-pearl background with gold brackets at the four corners, outlining a delicate outline that complements the digital hour markers in the brand’s iconic Reverso One font. The grained diamonds inlaid on the lugs and decorative engravings add to the beauty of the watch, while the winding crown is decorated with an inverted diamond, showing luxury.

The watch reinterprets the traditional Grand Feu champlevé enamelling technique with an innovative approach, cleverly capturing the bright colors and geometric contours of the bird of paradise flower. First, the craftsman hollows out the outline of the design on the flat metal surface of the case back, then cuts tiny 24K gold foils into the same shape and size as the flower parts and carefully fixes and inlays them. Using gold foil as the base makes the orange and gold tones of the watch richer, adding texture and dazzling luster, just like a beautiful painting.

The enameller used 19 different colors of enamel pigments to give the pattern subtle color changes and a three-dimensional feel. Each watch requires up to nine layers of enamel, a process that takes 60 hours. The brilliant colors of the flowers and leaves are set against a sparkling background of snow-set diamonds, a process that is extremely challenging. In addition, the setter carefully selected nine gemstones of different sizes and cleverly arranged their settings to ensure that the gemstones fit seamlessly and completely cover the surface of the metal setting, showing a dazzling brilliance.

The Bird of Paradise watch is inlaid with approximately 331 dazzling diamonds with a total weight of 1.64 carats, and the inlay process alone takes 65 hours. The watch is paired with a shiny green alligator leather strap, which has been carefully customized and dyed to perfectly match the color of the green leaves. The watch is carefully crafted by Jaeger-LeCoultre's rare craftsmanship workshop, taking a total of 125 hours and is ingenious. Only 10 pieces are issued worldwide, which is the ultimate combination of luxury and craftsmanship.
