Tucked away in the heart of Maui, Wailea Golf Club is a golfer's paradise that perfectly blends Hawaii's beauty with an extraordinary golf experience. It features three courses of varying difficulty, including Blue, Gold and Emerald, each with stunning settings and challenging greens. Our visit to this tropical paradise together left an indelible mark.
This golf trip started in an extremely convenient location, just one minute across from the Fairmont Resort where we were vacationing. When we arrived at the club, we were greeted by lush green lawns and a gentle sea breeze. The club staff greeted us with a warm "Aloha" showing their genuine hospitality. We successfully obtained our Titleist golf equipment and warmed up on the driving range. As we stood on the first tee of the golden course, we were surrounded by whales in the sea and stunning landscapes. Although the stunning scenery caught our eye, we stayed focused on our swings and the smooth, lush grass helped us put the ball.
As we walked through the Wailea golf course, we discovered the challenges it presents, but the fourth and fifth tees are friendly to players of all sizes and skill levels. Especially the 11th hole, a very challenging par 3 hole, the blind spot at the teeing position and the strategic obstacles in the bunker tested us and added a sense of excitement. The course is dotted with tropical plants, giving it an even more intimate feel and charm. It is also the preferred venue for championships held by some of the best golfers in history, such as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and others.
The final shot on the 18th hole not only offers stunning ocean views, but also a distant view of the clubhouse. When leaving this paradise, although I felt the sadness of parting, it was quickly replaced by joy. The staff waited for us on the 18th hole and kindly offered to take photos for us and invited us to experience the 18th hole of the Emerald Course. The view overlooks the entire ocean, as well as the outline of the palm trees and sloping green, which is like hitting the ball directly into the ocean. Under her guidance, that extra hole became a cherished memory and added another thrill to the day.
Wailea Golf Club is more than just a course, it's like a golden embrace in the heart. From the stunning setting to the challenging course design to the genuine hospitality of the staff, this Hawaiian gem is filled with love and aloha energy. We look forward to our next visit and another chapter in our relationship with Wailea.
