Richard Mille, the top Swiss watch brand, once again challenges the limits of watchmaking, integrating the brilliance of gemstones with watchmaking technology and launching the new RM 07-02 automatic sapphire watch series. The series continues the brand's iconic design concept, combining colored sapphire materials with precision craftsmanship, and selects four new designs, including pink, lavender and green sapphire models. Each model is limited to seven pieces and is extremely collectible.
The beauty of sapphire
Richard Mille has always been at the forefront of the industry in the use of sapphire materials. Since the first launch of the all-sapphire crystal case design in 2015, the brand has regarded this material as an important carrier of watchmaking innovation. In the new RM 07-02 series, the application of colored sapphires has reached new heights. The hardness of sapphire is as high as nine on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond, so the production process is extremely complicated. It takes more than 1,000 hours to make just one case, of which 430 hours are spent on pre-machining the parts and 350 hours on polishing. The transparency of sapphire allows every detail to be seen at a glance, and the production of colored sapphire is even more difficult. Metal oxides must be precisely added to the crystal structure and countless tests must be carried out to ensure the ideal color.
The beauty of geometry and light and shadow details
The beauty of the series comes from its geometrically symmetrical dial design. The central pattern of each watch is like a work of art, showcasing the master-level gem-setting skills. The bezel, flange and crown are inlaid with sparkling gemstones. Through the refraction of sapphire crystal, the light and shadow layers are rich and charming. The movement of the watch is also not to be overlooked. The core is equipped with the brand's independently developed CRMA5 hollow automatic winding movement, equipped with an adjustable geometry rotor to adjust the winding efficiency according to the wearer's activities. The base plate and bridge plate of the movement are made of red gold and white gold respectively, and are hand-micro-sandblasted and chamfered to provide a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. The red gold oscillating weight is inlaid with diamonds, highlighting its preciousness and luxury.

The series of watches presents the ultimate collision of color and personality with four dreamy color combinations, and each one shows different charm and style. The pink sapphire model features a soft pink case with gemstones of the same color, exuding a charming feminine atmosphere; the lavender sapphire model uses romantic purple as the main tone, combined with dazzling sapphires and diamonds, showing the balance of elegance and boldness; the green sapphire model is full of natural vitality, with malachite and green tsavorite embellishment, giving the watch a fresh and vibrant rhythm; and the green sapphire diamond model adds a large number of diamonds to the crystal green tone, showing a gorgeous and dazzling luxury.
