For a truly extraordinary meal, we managed to make a reservation at the famous Almada (Ponto Final) restaurant. Perched on the banks of the Tyne River, this restaurant is a hidden gem that not only offers excellent food but also boasts stunning panoramic views of the Lisbon skyline. As the sun set, we savored every dish and the warm light illuminated the city, a moment that will forever be engraved deep in our memories.
We embark on an adventure and leave the city for the Moorish Castles (Castelodos Mouros). The castle is located in Sintra, a small town near Lisbon, hidden in the shade of trees, like a fairy-tale fortress. As we climbed its ancient staircase, there was a strong sense of history in the air. Standing on the heights of the castle, we are overwhelmed by the vast and beautiful scenery, and time seems to stop flowing at this moment. The true beauty of Portugal unfolds before our eyes in this brief moment.
Our journey continued north and we arrived in Porto. This vibrant city combines architectural wonders with centuries of tradition. We walked through the Crystal Palace Gardens and were amazed by the idyllic gardens and the stunning view of the Douro River. From the exquisite façade of Porto São Bento to the mesmerizing Ponte Dom Luís I Bridge, the architectural wonders of the city's skyline fuel our inner passions and fuel our desire for Porto's unique charm.

When in Porto, one place not to be missed is Vila Nova de Gaia, where the aroma of ripe port wine pervades. Passionately preserving history, these cellars offer a glimpse into the skill and passion that go into making this fine wine. Then, we took a leisurely boat trip to visit the Douro Valley. The vines spreading on the hillside are like terraced fields, depicting a pure and beautiful scenery. Tranquil rivers lead us through rolling hills, charming small towns and beautiful vineyards, allowing us to reconnect with nature and gain a deep sense of tranquility.

The allure of Livraria Lello is irresistible, stepping into this historic bookstore is like stepping into a time machine. We wandered through hallowed halls of beautiful woodwork and stained glass, gazing in awe at the books. Before saying goodbye to Porto, we were captivated by the Mercado do Bolhão traditional market, where we chatted enthusiastically with local vendors, immersed in the buzz, and sampled some of the region's most delicious dishes. Through these encounters, we established human connections and discovered that the true essence of Porto lies in the warmth and genuine welcome of its people.


The pinnacle of our trip was a culinary experience at the Eleven restaurant in Lisbon. With a Michelin star, this restaurant exceeded our expectations with its excellent reputation, stunning park views and excellent service. The nine-course Tasting Menu gave us a culinary feast that left us feeling very satisfied. Each dish showcases the chef's creativity and superb skills, and the rich flavors make this dining experience an unforgettable memory for us.
When we left Eleven we were in awe of the chef's skill and passion for food. We were very impressed by the perfect balance of flavors and elegant surroundings. As we bid farewell to Lisbon, we relive this incredible taste adventure, inspiring us to continue experiencing the city's ever-changing culinary delights.
