The pristine white-clad yachts of Kitzbühel, Austria, became the focus of global yacht design this February. At the BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards 2026, the Italian luxury yacht group Ferretti Group won two awards.
The sailboat Wallywind 110 won the Outstanding Design Award in the sailboat category, while the power yacht Ferretti Yachts 800 was selected as the Best New Series. The fact that two different types of boats were simultaneously recognized by the judges directly demonstrates that the brand has representative works at both ends of the performance and comfort spectrum.
Design and Space Configuration of wallywind110
If you're looking for a high-performance sailboat that can cruise and race, the Wallywind 110 is the focus this time. Measuring 33.42 meters in length, its hull and superstructure are constructed from carbon fiber, achieving excellent weight control while maintaining structural strength. Paired with a teak deck, it boasts a clean and sleek design, continuing Wally's signature modern style.
The most captivating feature is the approximately 60-square-meter cockpit area. The design eliminates traditional side walkways, resulting in a cleaner and more seamless deck. Outdoor furniture is removable, and tabletops can be converted into sunbathing platforms, allowing the boat to seamlessly switch between cruising and racing modes. The design was completed by Studio Santa Maria Magnolfi and his team, while the marine engineering was handled by Judel/Vrolijk & Co., ensuring performance, stability, and handling efficiency are all at the same high standard. The boat features four cabins accommodating nine guests, served by a crew of five, perfectly balancing speed and quality of life.
Mass production and customization flexibility of the Ferretti Yachts 800
On the other hand, the Ferretti Yachts 800 targets the luxury power yacht market. Measuring 24.47 meters in length and 5.91 meters in beam, it belongs to the brand's new generation series. The exterior was designed by Filippo Salvetti, while the interior was planned by Ideaeitalia, featuring a simple and elegant style with remarkably well-proportioned spaces.
The main deck offers various configuration options, with four guest cabins on the lower deck and additional space for three crew members at the stern, suitable for extended periods at sea. In terms of power, the standard configuration includes two 1,550-horsepower MAN V12 engines, achieving a top speed of 27 knots; an optional 1,800-horsepower version can reach a top speed of 31 knots, allowing owners to freely choose between cruising and speed. The judges specifically noted its smooth flow, spacious galley, and customization flexibility rarely seen in mass-produced boats. Winning awards for both sailboats and power yachts demonstrates the brand's consistent high standards across different market segments.
