To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Breguet's founding, the brand launched the "Classique Tourbillon Sidéral 7255" tourbillon watch, limited to only 50 pieces worldwide, and was unveiled on June 26 to commemorate the historic moment when founder Abraham-Louis Breguet obtained the tourbillon patent on that day in 1801.

Starry Sky Textured Appearance Art

The watch features a patented 18K Breguet gold case, 38mm in diameter and only 10.2mm thick, with a subtle pinkish-gold hue, continuing the watchmaking tradition from the 18th century—both warm and durable. The case sides are engraved with the classic coin-edge pattern, paired with a dark blue alligator leather strap, understated yet stylish. The most eye-catching feature is undoubtedly the aventurine enamel dial. The blue background of the dial shimmers with tiny gold and copper specks, like stars scattered across a night sky.

Each dial requires at least five high-temperature firing processes, and the hand-finished details make each piece unique. An off-center hour ring is positioned at 12 o'clock, with a satin-brushed Breguet gold bezel framing the classic Arabic numerals, echoing a blend of tradition and starry sky aesthetics. The dial also features applied Breguet and Tourbillon lettering, its golden sheen adding to its elegance against the night-blue background.

Two major design features: flight and the mysterious tourbillon

The watch's most striking feature is its combination of two complex technologies: the Flying Tourbillon and the Mystery Tourbillon. The Flying Tourbillon design eliminates the traditional upper support, allowing the tourbillon cage to be supported only by its base, making it appear to float in the air. The Mystery Tourbillon design conceals the gears and transmission, making the tourbillon seem completely detached from the movement as it rotates, creating an even more magical visual effect. The tourbillon completes one revolution per minute, much like a celestial body rotating in the universe, perfectly echoing its name, Sidéral (sidereal time).

The watch is powered by the 187M1 manual-winding movement, composed of 183 parts, vibrating at 18,000 vibrations per hour, with a 50-hour power reserve. It utilizes a blue Nivachron™ hairspring to enhance its antimagnetic properties. The transparent case back showcases the Quai de l'Horloge (Watchmaking Embankment) guilloché engraving and Geneva stripes, while the bridges are also crafted in Breguet gold, revealing the exquisite craftsmanship. Each watch is individually numbered, from 1/50 to 50/50, making each a rare and precious piece.
