The case is slightly thinner than the previous model, and the bezel extends in an arc from 6 o'clock to 12 o'clock. The redesigned crown guards with polished chamfers on the sides blend seamlessly with the center frame, creating a rhythmic balance between strength and elegance. The dial is the most dazzling feature of the three new models. Its iconic "Tapisserie" checkered pattern is more prominent than its predecessor. The new bathtub-shaped hands and small luminous hour markers on the inner bezel complement each other, while the enlarged Arabic numerals add a touch of boldness and grandeur to the exquisite design.
Each of the three color schemes has its own distinct character. The first features a titanium case paired with a turquoise dial, with rhodium-toned Arabic numerals and 18K white gold hands that appear lightly against a clear background, complemented by a matching rubber strap, reminiscent of a gentle wave on a French Riviera. The second, also with a titanium case, boasts a vibrant pink dial and a stainless steel bezel set with 32 brilliant-cut diamonds, infusing the hard material with a soft glow. The third features an 18K rose gold case paired with a cool-toned light blue "Tapisserie" dial, with blue luminous hour markers juxtaposed with rose gold fine-lined chronograph subdials, exuding a subtle yet sophisticated elegance.
During the day, the pink and turquoise models feature white luminescent hour markers, while the rose gold model has a bluish tint. At night, all three emit a soft green glow, like stars reflected in the sea. All three watches come with interchangeable rubber straps, with the "AP" logo embossed on the inside, allowing for easy daily replacement and offering practicality without sacrificing brand identity.
Five years of painstaking effort have resulted in a movement.
The watch is powered by the new 6401 movement, the culmination of five years of dedicated work by the brand. Replacing the 2385 movement, which had served for nearly 30 years, this new movement marks the most significant technological milestone in the series to date. Developed entirely in-house, the new movement is only 5.7 mm thick and features 44 jewels. During development, engineers streamlined the movement's architecture, eliminating unnecessary parts and gaps, resulting in a more robust and responsive chronograph system. Users can activate the chronograph function instantly with the touch of a button, without any lag.
The most surprising aspect of the movement is that it gives the watch a "window to the soul." Through the sapphire crystal case back, the user can directly see the movement inside, watching the 22K rose gold rotor turning behind the case back. The case is water-resistant to 50 meters and comes with a titanium or 18K rose gold frame, making it suitable for both beach surfing and swimming pool use.
