The Secret of Rye Flavor
Belvedere 10 is produced in small batches each year, from the same rye, farm, field and harvest, and goes through a carefully designed ten-step production process. First, the fine and delicate organic Dankowskie Diamond rye is selected. The rye is grown in the middle of summer in the same fields on the Bartężek estate in Poland’s Masurian Lake District, an area with an ideal growing climate and excellent agricultural conditions. The fields are farmed using organic and biodynamic methods and are nourished by the snow and the sun. The harvest takes place approximately one year after sowing, at the perfect moment to ensure maximum wine quality, smoothness and excellence.
Next, the distillery uses unique yeasts and enzymes to create a rye spirit that's full of flavor. To enhance the character and depth of the rye, the liquor is quadruple distilled and copper-column distilled in small batches at the Belvedere distillery, also in Żyrardów, Poland. Every drop passes through a natural fiber filter designed to preserve the spirit’s clarity and brightness while enhancing the flavor. Finally, the wine is left to rest for ten months to improve its texture and smoothness.
After four delicate distillations, ten complicated processes, and ten months of aging, this is the traditional production process used when Belvedere was launched in early 1910, hence the name "Belvedere 10".
